A message from Carey Gregory, Church Relations Manager with Operation Christmas Child:
Since the beginning of Operation Christmas Child, the partnership of churches has been absolutely foundational as we have sought to serve the missions heart of congregations across the country — providing a simple, practical and powerful tool to share the Gospel around the world. We count it an honor and privilege to be part of extending the reach of churches to more than 100 countries, providing a platform for ministry for pastors in places where resources are scarce. I know of no other missions opportunity that enables a church here in the US to so directly impact the effective outreach of another church a world away.
The connection that the Lord has facilitated with Foursquare Churches is one that we cherish. Where these churches have found Operation Christmas Child to be a valued missions resource, we are striving together to share the message of life and salvation in Jesus Christ alone, and engage children in follow-up discipleship through The Greatest Journey program. This partnership was strengthened even further last year as OCC supported the summer camps of the Foursquare Southwest District. It was our joy to provide resources to encourage and inspire, and we would like to do the same for your district’s summer camps this year.
Though many of the churches you serve may be familiar with Operation Christmas Child, we find that there are so many who don’t know the full scope of what is happening through the giving of shoebox gifts and the follow-up discipleship that is taking place. Last year alone, nearly 3 million children participated in The Greatest Journey, where they explored the Gospel and learned what it is to know Christ, walk with Him, and even share their faith with others.
I look forward to how we might be part of what you are seeking to accomplish through camps this summer. I’ll hope to connect with you soon.
